The shortest federal red snapper season ever in the Gulf of Mexico will take place from 12:01 a.m. on June 1 through 12:01 a.m. June 4, just three days. For federally permitted charter vessels, the season lasts 49 days, through 12:01 a.m. on July 20. In Alabama state waters, out to nine miles from shore, snapper season lasts from 12:01 a.m. May 26 through 11:59 p.m. July 31. Of course, we also had the usual freshwater and saltwater fishing reports from Alabama waters and announcements.
