One of the most valuable things that most anglers learn as they grow and develop in their craft is that tools and techniques which work well un one location may work just as well of even better when applied in a totally different locale.
And even though the cold rough waters of the Northeast might seem totally foreign to our deep blue warm Gulf of Mexico waters, there are some tools which might transfer very well from there to here.

The Galuga chum fishing teaser is made of high-strength plastic tube with very precisely machined slots and openings which create bubbles and also release scent. The tube is loaded with whatever chum the angler wants and the unit is trolled as part of a spread.

Serious Big-Fish Lures That Work and Hold Up
Jim Muller, president of On Top Fishing Company says, “ I got tired of having to spend a fortune on topwater lures, minnow jerkbaits and floating stickbaits. And they wouldn’t work right. When I did hook a big fish, the hooks ripped out- all sorts of bad things.”
Muller continues, “ I decided I’d develop my own lures. I would fish the lures and I’d take the lures offshore and fish the lures hard. I looked at size, color, action. I took them to Florida and used them on tarpon, barracuda- all the big fish there.”

And even though these plugs were originally designed for the super-size striped bass, mega-bluefish and tuna of the northeast, these lures should be deadly on Gulf offshore bruisers like extra-large amberjack.
The second form of lure offered by On Top Fishing is the Minnow Jerkbait. This lure swims the way it is supposed to swim-like a baitfish. It has an internal weight-transfer system which produces very long casts, and Muller states that this lure doesn’t tangle the line as it is cast. The minnow jerkbait comes in several color patterns, and a metalflake creates lots of flash in the water.
